July 21, 2013 (San Diego) – Two of Sunbelt Publications’ titles received awards from Foreword Magazine at The American Library Association Meeting in Chicago.
Ricardo Breceda’s “Accidental Artist” was a Gold Winner for Regional Non-Fiction. The book captures the sculptures that Breceda, the Picasso of Steel, created. He has elevated a primitive welding art form of Mexico to provocative sculptures which can be found throughout Borrego Valley.
Baja California Plant Field Guide, 3rd Edition was awarded Bronze in the Reference category. The Guide is a manual to native and naturalized plants of the Baja California Peninsula, Mexico as well as the Sonoran Desert and Southern California.
